The Zoning Bylaw takes aspects of the Official Community Plan and transforms it into specific regulations. Every property has a specific zone which tells you what you can build (uses) and how many units (ie. residential) you can build (density). The zoning also specifies where you can build (required building distances from property lines) and how tall you can build. Zoning also has regulations for home-based businesses, off-street parking requirements, and fencing heights.
