The activities undertaken by, or on behalf of the City, under this bylaw, are for the sole purpose of providing a limited and interim spot-checking function for reasons of health, safety and the protection of persons and property.

Compliance with this bylaw does not extend to the assumption by the City of any responsibility for ensuring the compliance with the current edition of the British Columbia Building Code, the property owner, contractor and designers are solely responsible for making sure the work is compliant with the code.
