Cariboo Regional District

The Cariboo Regional District (CRD) spans both municipal and rural boundaries to deliver services to wide areas with common needs. The services offered by the regional district are varied, and include services like fire protection, recreation, library, waste management and utility systems.

The regional district is divided up into Electoral Areas A through L. The electoral areas surrounding Quesnel include:

  • Area A - Red Bluff/Quesnel South
  • Area B - Quesnel West/Bouchie Lake
  • Area C - Barlow/Barkerville
  • Area I - West Fraesr/Nazko

Services for these areas include:

  • Land Use Planning
  • Weed Control
  • Waste Management
  • Building Inspection
  • Bylaw Enforcement
  • Library System
  • Corporate Administration
  • Electoral Area Administration

North Cariboo Recreation and Parks Service

The CRD and City of Quesnel both fund the North Cariboo Recreation and Parks Service. The primary functions within North Cariboo Recreation and Parks include:

Managed by the City of Quesnel

  • Quesnel and District Arena and West Fraser Centre
  • Quesnel and District Arts and Recreation Centre

Managed by non-profit volunteer agencies/commissions

  • Alex Fraser Park
  • Pioneer Park on Dragon Lake
  • Kosta's Cove Park on Ten Mile Lake
  • Quesnel Youth Soccer Fields and Indoor Soccer Facility
  • Community halls and park facilities in Bouchie Lake and Barlow Creek
