Notice of proposed amendments to Council Procedure Bylaw

Notice of proposed amendments to City of Quesnel Council Procedure Bylaw 1920 of 2022

Notice is hereby given, in accordance with Sections 94(4) and 124(3) of the Community Charter that Quesnel City Council intends on making the following amendments to the  City of Quesnel Council Procedure Bylaw 1889 of 2020:

1. Part 1 – Introduction - Definitions - Add “Mayor Designate” and change all occurrences throughout document, to reflect this change.
2. Part 2 – Council Meetings – Electronic Meetings - Replace subsections 8 (1) through (4) with subsections 8 (1) through (5), to allow the Municipality to hold electronic meetings, in the event of an emergency, during a communicable disease event, as resolved by Council as being necessary or as authorized by the Mayor or Mayor Designate, in extraordinary circumstances.
3. Part 4 – Council Proceedings - Attendance of Public at Meetings – Revise subsection 11(4), due to a referencing error - "in accordance with s.133 of the Community Charter."
