A place to stay.
Finding a comfortable home for you and your family can be challenging prior to arrival in the community. Our Healthcare Recruitment Coordinator will work with you to identify short and long-term options upon your arrival. The City of Quesnel has a furnished two-bedroom apartment available at $1550/month for stays of up to three months for new healthcare professionals arriving in the community. The apartment is downtown, within walking distance of amenities, medical clinics, and the hospital. Laundry and parking are available on the premises.
Locum support.
Work-life balance is important. We heard that local physicians were having a hard time taking time away due to lack of locum coverage, and we responded. Supported by the Cariboo Chilcotin Regional Hospital District, the City of Quesnel provides a travel and accommodation stipend to visiting locums, making it easier for our physicians to take a well-earned break.
The City of Quesnel Healthcare Recruitment and Retention Program has been in place since 2014 and has evolved to meet the changing needs of practitioners in our community. We continually review this program and seek opportunities for continuous improvement.
