On Monday, September 30, the City of Quesnel will observe the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. This day honours the children who never returned home from residential schools, as well as the survivors and their families and communities. On this day, we will pause in solidarity with survivors and their families to reflect on the history and impact of residential schools. On this day and every day, we seek educational opportunities and ways to engage in meaningful acts of reconciliation.

Take some time to learn about the history and harms that residential schools created. There are many resources available to help you learn more. You can also support important causes and organizations that are working to address the ongoing impacts of residential schools and participate in programs created and led by First Nations, Metis, and Inuit organizers.
