Flood hazard study information session

Posted

The City is starting a flood hazard study to help assess and lessen the risk of flooding. The study will provide critical information the City needs to:

  • Better understand flood hazards and risks to existing development and property;
  • Identify suitable, efficient, and cost-effective measures for dealing with flood hazards in the City;
  • Identify non-structural solutions, such as a bylaw aimed at flood hazard protection through municipal regulations; and
  • Secure senior government funding for future flood mitigation work.

Community members are invited to learn more about this project’s initiation. An information station will be set up at Spirit Centre from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm on December 4th.

The City will undertake stakeholder engagement in the new year.
