Delegation - Quesnel Shelter & Support Society

Representatives from QSSS provided Council an overview of the programs and services available in Quesnel, including emergency shelter beds, transitional housing units, day program, homeless prevention program and supportive housing.

The 2025 homeless count was conducted by Homelessness Services Association of BC and is a point-in-time count of those who are unsheltered in our area. 131 people replied that they were homeless with 92 of the respondents 'unsheltered'. The population is trending upwards since 2020, however, it was noted that the numbers may be lower than actual, as the count is conducted in a 24 hour period.

Delegation - Quesnel Safety & Security Committee

A coalition of the Downtown, West Quesnel and South Quesnel Business Improvement Areas & Quesnel and District Chamber of Commerce.  In light of the challenges that businesses are facing from criminal activity, the group outlined the need for support of the City's Clean Team and Bylaw department.

Development Services

Council approved a primary liquor license for 374 Mclean Street – Tee Time Virtual Golf.

2026 Council Remuneration

As per the Council Remuneration Policy, Council remuneration is adjusted each year by the BC Stats Consumer Price Index for September.

At 1.9% the Mayor's annual salary will now be $66,591.56 and Councillors will receive $22,539.72, plus any stipends for Committee chair duties.

November 22-30, 2025 - Christmas Tree Alley at West Park Mall - Sponsored by the West Quesnel Business Association. Decorated trees will then be on display from November 22 - 30, when they will be auctioned off. Auction proceeds will go to the Quesnel Seniors Advocacy Service for food security.
