The City of Quesnel has lifted the local state of emergency for the area along Baker Creek that has been in effect since April 24, 2020.
The declaration had been in place due to the threat of flooding which could have potentially resulted in the damage or loss of infrastructure, property, or the environment.
Despite this risk of Baker Creek flooding having passed, the City reminds residents that the creeks and rivers in our area remain potentially dangerous places, and that people should always exercise caution when enjoying them.
The City thanks residents for their cooperation, patience and understanding during this event.
Residents are encouraged to register for the Cariboo Chilcotin Emergency Notification System to receive a text, call or email regarding Evacuation Alerts and Orders: member.everbridge.net/index/453003085612292#/signup.
