Keep your property, neighbours and surrounding forests safe by following the City’s guidelines
for a legal backyard wood burning fire.
- MUST be on your property. There is no burning on City property without a permit.
- MUST be no larger than 0.5 metres by 0.5 metres.
- MUST be contained by a firebreak.
- MUST have a responsible and competent attendant.
- MUST have 8 litres of water within 2 metres of fire.
- MUST ONLY use dry, seasoned wood or charcoal briquettes (NO wet wood, yard debris, garbage etc.).
