The Lhtako Dene, Nazko, ?Esdilagh, and Lhoosk’uz Dene Nation Governments, along with the City of Quesnel, invite you to join us on October 3 to discuss our collective community forest application. A community forest is an area-based provincial forest tenure that is established for the benefit of the communities and supports opportunities such as: recreation, wildfire resiliency, wildlife enhancement, watershed management, First Nations stewardship, and contributes to a more diversified forest economy. Operations within a community forest provide a source of revenue for local priorities and community initiatives.
We are inviting the public and all stakeholders to the meeting on October 3. An Open House will take place from 4:30-6:00pm for people to drop in, ask questions and learn about the community forest application. A facilitated discussion will begin at 6:00pm (with an option to attend virtually) to discuss the steps involved in applying for a community forest, the anticipated benefits, and the information that we have heard to date from the public and various stakeholders.
We hope to see you there!
