Proposal:
A Temporary Use Permit was issued in 2025 to allow the operation of an emergency shelter at 395 Elliott Street, legally described as LOT 2, DISTRICT LOT 386, CARIBOO DISTRICT, PLAN EPP92735. See the location map for reference.
Council authorized the temporary use from December 30, 2025, to April 30, 2026. As a condition of approval, Council required BC Housing to report back on the shelter’s operations before considering an extension of the permit for up to an additional two years.
Consideration of this two-year extension will take place at a Special Open Meeting of Council as follows:

How can I provide comment?
Written submissions regarding the proposed application may be submitted to City Hall in person or by email to developmentservices@quesnel.ca no later than 12:00 pm, Wednesday, July 15, 2026. Email submissions must include subject 395 Elliott Street, and full name and address of submitter. Oral and written submissions may also be received at the Council meeting.
