OCP Update - Open House Session 2

Posted
News

The City of Quesnel has prepared draft revisions to our Official Community Plan (OCP) and Zoning Bylaw, in partnership with Alpine Engineering and Small Housing. These foundational documents will be updated to shape Quesnel's future over the next five to 20 years. The OCP guides all planning, land use, and development decisions, while the Zoning Bylaw determines how land can be used and developed. Your input on these revisions is crucial.

We're also planning future updates to our Development Application Procedures Bylaw, making permitting and review processes more efficient and accessible for developers, residents, and businesses alike.

Join us for the City of Quesnel OCP Review Open House on Thursday, October 30th, 2025, from 2:00 to 7:00 pm at Quesnel City Hall Council Chambers (410 Kinchant St). This drop-in event offers you the opportunity to:

  • Review proposed revisions required by provincial legislation.
  • Understand other proposed changes that could impact Quesnel's growth and development.
  • Share your thoughts about the proposed changes and what else you would like to see for our community's future.

Drop by anytime during the event! No formal presentations are scheduled, but staff will be on site for open conversations about the OCP and your vision for Quesnel.

The results from this outreach will be used to inform the recommended revisions to the OCP and Zoning Bylaw that will be submitted to Council for review later in the year.

Visit our OCP update webpage for more information about these revisions and ongoing updates: https://letsconnectquesnel.ca/official-community-plan-update.

Our virtual open house is now live! If you're unable to join us for the in-person open house, we encourage you to participate online HERE because your input matters. Submit your comments by November 7, 2025.
