Located behind the Arts & Recreation Centre, the Quesnel Bike Park includes a rubberized strider zone, paved pumptrack, progressive jump and drop lines and a balance park. The existing flow trails were upgraded and changed how they interact with each other and the existing paved Bryce Trail. There is also new kiosks to provide park information and tips for beginner riders.
Phase 3 will see the construction of the Strawberry Shortcut zone, approximately 2/3 of the way up the paved Bryce trail. The area is a series of flow trails accessed off of a traversing green singletrack trail. The trails in phase 3 are predominantly machine-built flow trails – 4 green, 1 blue, and 1 black. Also included in this phase is a black North Shore style singletrack trail with skinny wood features, located ½ way down Even Flow.
Phase 4 will see the construction of two new black trails, accessed from the Around the Bend and Even Flow junction.
This project is 100% funded through the Destination Development Fund. The new bike park and trails will help to increase tourism and resident recruitment while providing free, enjoyable outdoor recreation amenities for locals.
