News Release

QUESNEL – Plans for a new Multi-Centre in Quesnel are taking shape and members of the Cariboo Regional District Northern Caucus and Quesnel City Council urge the public to get involved.

A presentation by the consultants hired to complete the pre-feasibility study, CannonDesign, is planned for March 1 at 7 p.m. in Council Chambers at Quesnel City Hall and the public is invited to attend. The presentation will be made to the North Cariboo Joint Planning Committee, made up of Quesnel City Council and the CRD’s four Northern Directors.

This is an initial report that will advance options regarding possible location, amenities that may be considered as part of a new Multi-Centre and approximate costs for the various options being presented.  The consultants are seeking input before further work is undertaken to complete their report. An Open House will follow the presentation in order to allow for public review and comment on the various options outlined.

The Quesnel Community and Economic Development Corporation secured funding through Western Economic Diversification Canada to pay for the completion of the pre-feasibility study.
