A proposal to develop a supportive housing facility on Elliott Street has been received. The new “supportive housing” use is to provide a range of accommodations from emergency shelter to independent housing operated by a government agency or non-profit society that provides a range of non-clinical supports such as life-skills training, connections to primary health care, mental health or substance abuse services.
A Special Open Meeting of Council will be held at 5:00 pm on September 18, 2017 to review housing agreements pertaining to this development intended to specify services which will be prohibited on site.

Written submissions regarding the proposed amendments may be submitted to City Hall to the attention of Gina Albers by 12:00 pm Thursday, September 14, 2017 to be included in the Public Hearing agenda. Oral and written submissions may also be received at the September 18, 2017 Public Hearing. No further information or representations from the public can be considered by City Council after the public hearing has been terminated.
