Public Works Replacement Loan Authorization Bylaw No. No. 1854 of 2018 - Assent Vote
On Saturday, October 20, 2018 qualified electors within the City of Quesnel boundaries will be voting “yes” or “no” to the following question:
“Are you in favour of the City of Quesnel adopting City of Quesnel New Public Works Facility Loan Authorization Bylaw No. 1854 of 2018 which will authorize Council to borrow a sum not exceeding eight and half millions dollars ($8,500,000), repayable over a period of no more than thirty (30) years, for the development and construction of a new Public Works Facility?”
Scrutineers for and against the question must be appointed if applications are received from persons who wish to volunteer for the positions. Only persons are entitled to vote as electors on the questions shown above are entitled to act as scrutineers.
If sufficient applications are received, one scrutineer for and one scrutineer against the question will be appointed to each voting place. One scrutineer for the question and one scrutineer against the question will also be appointed to be present at the determination of the official results and, if necessary, at a judicial recount.
Applications to act as a scrutineer will be received by the Chief Election Officer, or designate, at the office of the City of Quesnel (City Hall), 410 Kinchant St, Quesnel BC V2J 7J5 during the period of:
9 am, Tuesday, September 4, 2018 to 4 pm, Friday, September 14, 2018
Applications will only be received during regular office days during this period. Application forms are available at City Hall, 410 Kinchant Street and on the City website.
