QUESNEL, B.C. – The City of Quesnel is pleased with the decision released today to dismiss the lawsuit filed by Gook Country Estates Ltd against the City of Quesnel et al.

The 78-page document prepared by the Honourable Mr. Justice Nathan H. Smith states “The plaintiff has failed to show that it is entitled to any of the declarations sought and the action is dismissed.”

“While we have received the decision, it would be inappropriate to comment to great extent without studying it further,” stated Mayor Nate Bello. “However, we see this as vindication that the City and your Council are making appropriate decisions on behalf of the residents of Quesnel. We will continue to offer the best services possible while acting in a financially responsible manner, and we will continue to do so in an honest, open and transparent fashion.”

Once the written decision has been fully evaluated, the City will provide further comment.
