Alive After Five

Supporting the destination development pillar of the Economic Development Transition Strategy, this project includes two components which will bring new life to the downtown: improvements to the Spirit Square stage area and an evening entertainment series.

Spirit Square

This component includes the renovation of the existing Spirit Square stage, reversing it's orientation from the street to the parking lot in order to maximize the types and size of event that can be held in the Square. Electrical and lighting will also be updated, along with an improved facade of the Spirit Centre building and increased storage capacity for outdoor seating and stage equipment.

Evening entertainment

Delayed to 2021 due to Covid-19, a series of evening events will provide free entertainment in the downtown core for residents, visitors, and Rocky Mountaineer passengers, bringing our downtown "alive after five."

This project is a partnership between the City of Quesnel and the Quesnel Downtown Association with funding from Northern Development Initiative Trust, and the owner of 246 St Laurent.
