Agriculture Centre Business Plan

Following up on the 2016 Agriculture Centre Feasibility Study, the City of Quesnel is completing a business plan for this project.

With funding from the Province of British Columbia, we've hired Greenchain Consulting to complete this project. A steering committee has been established, including representatives from local stakeholder groups, the Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Forests, Lands, Natural Resource Operations and Rural Development, City of Quesnel, and Cariboo Regional District.

PHASE ONE - Gap analysis and Market Validation

This phase includes meeting with the steering committee, reviewing past documents, performing key interviews, and consultation meetings with potential partners.

PHASE TWO - User Needs Assessment

This phase will include workshops with stakeholders and a survey for producers and processors, to better understand their needs, and their interest in proposed concepts based on the findings from phase one.

PHASE THREE - Business Plan Development

In this phase, key findings and recommendations from phase one and two will be developed into a series of mini-plans covering operations, management, marketing, and finance. These will be compiled into a draft business plan for input from the project steering committee.

The final plan is expected by the end of 2018.
