The Quesnel Arts and Recreation Centre is home to a team of driven, focused and determined personal trainers. Our goal is to work with you to meet your goals by inspiring and motivating you with support and determination. We will work with you to set and achieve your daily goal while working towards your end objective. We will work to establish a core foundation of knowledge in health and wellness. We want to help you live your best life.

Body Shock

A fun and challenging class for people of all fitness levels.  A combination of strength training, high intensity cardio intervals and core strengthening will help to build lean muscle, burn calories and keep your metabolism jacked all day! Push yourself to the limit, have fun and discover a strength in yourself that you didn’t know existed!

Body Sculpt

Body Sculpt is a combination of traditional body sculpting methods using free weights, resistance bands and your own body! This class is a non-cardio workout but you will feel the afterburn. Designed to provide you with a total body sculpt workout in one short hour! Good for all levels.

Cardio Fit

The Quesnel Arts and Recreation Centre CardioFit class is designed for teens (15+) and adults and is suitable for intermediate to advanced exercisers. Each session is focused around varied functional movements performed at high intensity. Hour long workouts focus on conditioning, strength training, flexibility and more. Be prepared to get your heart rate up, burn a lot of calories, and strengthen your body’s main muscle groups in a fun and challenging environment!

Cardio Lite

This NO IMPACT class combines not only strength training, cardio and core but participants gain balance, endurance and flexibility.  This class is full of variety using everything from free weights, bands, balls & even suspension in a safe way that is guided by personal ability.  Cardio Lite empowers participants at every age and fitness level to improve health in a fun way.

Barre Fitness

Barre Fitness is a specialized 1-hour workout that will shape, tone and transform your body by combining Pilates, sports conditioning and Ballet Barre.  This invigorating 1 hour workout will change your body.  This class is for all ages and fitness levels using mostly body weight and low impact movements.  This is the perfect addition to your fitness routine.

Power Parent

Finding time to exercise as a parent can be challenging. Power parent introduce your child to active living and fitness in a social setting that will promote and encourage fun fitness.  Components of this class will cover strength training, high intensity cardio, core strengthening and flexibility.  This fitness class is a great way to stay in shape, be with your little ones and meet other parents and caregivers!

Zumba

Zumba is a popular fitness program inspired by Latin dance. The word “Zumba” comes from a Columbian word that means to move fast and have fun, which is just how people describe this exhilarating calorie-burning routine. Using upbeat Latin music together with cardiovascular exercise, Zumba is aerobic fitness routine that is lots of fun and easy to learn.   NOTE: Class requires an adult drop in fee & is exempt from the “free fitness classes” with your facility pass!

H.I.I.T It

This High Intensity Interval Training class is a total body, heart pumping, cardio workout. This class is designed to tone and strengthen your body while improving your endurance level. Come prepared to HITT IT hard, there’s no slowing down in this class!

H.I.I.T. Tabata     

This High Intensity Interval Training class is a total body, heart pumping, cardio workout entailing four-minute consisting of 8 rounds of 20 seconds of work at maximum effort, followed by flexible rest period. This class is designed to tone and strengthen your body while improving your endurance level. Come prepared to work hard, there’s no slowing down in this class!

Tabata

Touted as “the world’s greatest fat burning workout”, Tabata is a simple yet effective interval training technique designed to boost the body’s calorie burning mechanisms. Tabata training is a high-intensity interval training (HIIT) workout, featuring exercises that last four minutes, but it's likely to be one of the longest four minutes you've ever endured. This high intensity interval training will elevate the heart rate, shake up the metabolism, and push the body off of its plateau in order to burn calories.

Synergy 360

Start your day off right with an energetic workout including strength, cardio and core. Classes are created to strengthen the cardiovascular system, tone muscles, and boost balance, flexibility, endurance and speed. Exercises can be modified to accommodate all fitness levels.

Fit in 40

Don’t have much time, we have the solution for you? This is a 40 minute class that you can do on your lunch hour. Classes include cardio, strength and core training designed to help you get the most out of your workout in the least amount of time! If you're ready to pick up the pace, these convenient lunch time fitness classes will make sure you pull your weight!

VIP Circuit

Come prepared to work hard! This class will blast fat and tone the body! This one stop full body workout is a constantly changing workout so your body never gets accustomed to one format.  Every class is something different and you VIP-ers will never know what you are going to get!

Circuit Training

Suspension Training +

A total body workout for all fitness levels! Build strength, improve balance, mobility, and flexibility at the same time using your own body weight and strength training equipment! You will be led through a series of exercises that targets every inch of your body (especially your core) and helps build beautiful, lean muscle. Perfect for everyone; elite athletes to beginners.

W.R. Cardio Circuit

Are you looking to lean out? Get a great body? And do it while saving time? This quick 60 minute class is for you! Located in the Weight Room, this circuit fitness class is a great for someone who just wants to enjoy a little more of what the Weight Room has to offer.  Learn how to use a variety of equipment while under the guidance of a personal trainer in a fun circuit environment. This class not only builds strength is a great way to build confidence and knowledge of the weight room while getting a full body work out.

Ab-solution

Everybody wants better abs!  However, more than just for looks strong abs help contribute to overall core strength. This 30 minute class focuses on all areas of the abdominal region to improve strength, posture and tone.  This workout will challenge the core with functional exercises that will enhance daily life activities.

This 50 minute class focuses on all areas of the abdominal region to improve strength, posture and tone.  This workout will challenge the core with functional exercises that will enhance daily life activities.

STRONG by Zumba™

STRONG by Zumba™ is a high intensity interval training workout driven by the science of Synced Music Motivation. Unlike all other workouts, we don't just create moves to a playlist. Instead, we craft and reverse engineer the songs to match every move, driving the intensity in a challenging progression that provides a total body workout. The result is a group fitness experience unlike any other.

PiYo

PiYo is a great low-impact program that is inspired by Pilates and Yoga moves mixed together and set to upbeat music. You will use your own body weight as a natural resistance and will strengthen your muscles, increase your stamina, and flexibility training all in one class. This class is taught by a certified Beach Body PiYo instructor so come give it a try!

R.I.P. It! (Resistance! Intervals! Power!)

Resistance! Intervals! Power! You can do it! This one hour class is a total body workout, utilizing free weights, resistance, bands, balls, body weight, and other various equipment. Using spilt sets, pyramid sets, intervals and more.  Weight training helps shape and strengthen muscles for more power everyday! All done in a group setting with motivating music that will take your body to the next level!

Doing it Right?

Ever ask yourself if you are Doing It Right? Well this class will answer all your questions! Form is so important; it helps first and foremost to prevent injuries and will help you get the most out of all your workouts. Class will include weights and various equipment and will be slow and steady concentrating on correct form for all exercises.  This unique workout will bring your heart rates up and work to tone your muscles all while Doing It Right!

Morning Mashup

Start your day off right with an energetic workout including strength, cardio and core. Classes are created to strengthen the cardiovascular system, tone muscles, and boost balance, flexibility, endurance and speed. Exercises can be modified to accommodate all fitness levels.

Target: FUSION

The best of both worlds! Joining together to tone and strengthen your body to create healthy, long & lean muscles.  This class focuses on targeting the arms, bum & thighs in a low impact class. All moves mimic ballet, kickboxing, palates and much more with low impact high repetition approach to creating your desired silhouette. 

This class is kid friendly!

The ‘WOD’ (The workout of the day')

'The Wod' include AMRAPs (As Many Rounds As Possible) and EMOMs (Every Minute On The Minute). Each 50-minute class involves just three pieces of equipment (12kg or 16kg Kettlebells, Dumbbells and a skipping rope) in order to improve form to deliver a lean and stronger body.

Adapted DANCEfit

Get fit with DANCE! This adapted fitness program is designed for those with developmental disabilities and is led by a certified fitness leader.  DANCEfit is an innovative and energetic dance fitness program where you learn simple moves, get inter-ACTIVE with others and get a workout while you bust a move to your favorite music.

Adapted Strength Training Circuit 

This adapted circuit training program is designed for those with developmental disabilities and is led by a certified fitness leader. It occurs in our weight room using a series of designated equipment to give participants a great work out while gaining confidence.  Please contact Tarin Lefebvre if there is any question. 15 years +

KidTASTIC!

All class focuses on cardio, balance, flexibility, coordination, and strength, all in one super-fun package! The purpose is to encourage little bodies to boost their fitness levels, develop a strong commitment to physical literacy skills and foster positive body images. These skills are transferable to any other sport or physical activity. For ages 3-14yrs. Parent must attend with children.

Cardio Blast

Try this vigorous, 60-minute workout: Cardio Blast—it's as powerful as its name makes it out to be. The class is a form of High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT), which incorporates short intervals of workouts proceeded by levels. Cardio Blast pushes you to your limits—and then some. It is meant to improve your endurance overall and burn a heightened amount of calories.

Cardio Strength

This combination of cardio and strength training in one powerful full 60 minute body workout, which uses a combination of cardio and strength together in the same workout, by using a series of high-intensity strength exercises that will hit every muscle in the body. This class will build stamina, improve coordination and flexibility, and burn calories as you build lean muscle with this fun and challenging workout.

Core Circuit Training

Cardio is good. Cardio that focuses on core strength at the same time is better. This 60 minute workout lets you check off both boxes using stations in this one of a kind circuit class. Get your heart pumping and you muscles moving with this cardio based class that will have your abs screaming for more!

AM Training Sessions

This is a personal training fitness program is designed to train participant to their highest potential and not to mention it’s a great way to start your day. This class allows for 10 drop-in participants and is located in the Fitness Centre at the QARC. The workouts are designed to focus on select muscle groups in order to increase your strength, up your metabolism and creating that strong sculpted body you deserve.This perfect storm of fitness gives participants a daily plan to reach their goals and reap the rewards of training in the gym. 

AM Training

This is a personal training fitness program is designed to train participant to their highest potential and not to mention it’s a great way to start your day. Nia

Nia is an exhilarating movement practice that combines dance, martial arts and healing arts. Some have called it the exciting, aerobic "cousin of yoga" due to the combination of movement awareness and fitness that it creates. This class is a fun and creative way to nurture your body, mind and spirit through dance, Soul-stirring music and instructor-led choreography blend martial arts, dance, and healing, giving you a powerful workout through expressive and joyful connection.

SeniorFIT: Better Strength, Better Balance

This class is designed to improve the agility, balance, coordination, and strength of older adults. Classes include stretching routines, as well as exercises designed to develop participants’ ability to perform daily activities. Our Fitness Leader is experienced in adapting exercises in the program to a range of health conditions and physical limitations, and participants are supported in going at their own pace.

Pound

A full-body cardio workout that uses lightly weighted “drumsticks” called Ripstix. Each class fuses Pilates, isometric movements, and plyometrics with constant simulated drumming to sculpt muscle and torch up to 900 calories in 45 minutes. If you’re not exactly musically inclined, don’t worry—the routines are simple to follow and set to calibrated songs so you can get the rhythm down easily.

H.I.T.T the Barre

HIIT the Barre is a favorite among Proof Fitness members. HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) holds steady among the top fitness trends.

RIPD 360

60 minutes of muscle defining strengthening and sculpting! Perfect resistance training define your body.

The Works

A one-hour class using all styles of cardio and resistance training in an interval fashion. A combination-style class for everyone, beginner to advanced. Get ready for a variety of energy-filled cardio including Step, hi-low, and drills.

Outdoor Adventure Walking

Looking for a great workout this spring that will take your fitness to the next level? This class is all about reconnecting to nature and yourself. Join Joelene as she takes you outdoors for a resistant walk on the trails behind the Arts and Recreation Centre, This serene combo of the great outdoors and getting your heart pumping will increase your fitness, endurance, strength, mind and body.

Hill Repeaters!

This 3 step class is broken up so that you will get you heart pounding in an intense resistant workout outdoors.  Join Joelene every Friday morning for this one-of-a-kind class as we together hit the hills for 35 minutes of hill repeaters, a quick transition into a 12 minutes ab focused exercises and let’s finish it off with a 7 minutes of stretch. This killer combo will increase your fitness endurance and strength.

Low Impact Fit

Join Tamara for this fun class that works with repetition, strength and deep stretching. This program is designed to follow all PHO orders and is low-intensity fitness.

As part of the PHO all fitness classes must be pre-registered online or by phone 250-992-8200. If you are unable to attend please withdrawal yourself either online or by phone 250-992-8200 so that wait-listed people can register. Space is limited to 16 participants.
